Obituary of Claribel Florence Sarty
SARTY, Claribel Florence-Age 87 of Conquerall Mills, passed away on July 19th, 2025, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, surrounded by her family. Born in Lake Centre, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Queenie (Baker) Meisner.
Claribel devoted her life to caring for others, while always ensuring her family remain her number one priority. She was known in the community and beyond, for her delicious old-fashioned donuts and jam filled cookies. Claribel enjoyed volunteering in her community, being part of the Ascension Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, lending a helping hand to anyone in need, and passing on family traditions, recipes, skills and home remedies to each generation as they came along. Many of her extended family adored her because she always showed kindness, compassion, fairness and acceptance to all who visited the farm. Claribel will be greatly missed by everyone who knows her, and her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren for years to come.
Claribel is survived by sons, William (Katrina), Warren (Patricia). Wendell (Darlene); daughters, Joan (Blair) and Julia (Derrick); grandchildren, Adam, Justin, Jacob, Tegan, Billy, Shawna, Jordan and Candace; step grandchildren, Theresa and Jason; 27 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Phillip (Karen) and Basil (Carolyn).
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Merrill Sarty; much loved mother-in-law, M. Eva Sarty (Wile); brother, Clement; sister, Arlean; grandson, Jason.
A visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. A burial will be held in Ascension Lutheran Cemetery, Conquerall Mills following the service.
It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations in Claribel’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Team at SSRH or a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chaisson, the nurses in the SSRH ER and the Palliative Care Team for their compassion, understanding and kindness during this difficult time. They went above and beyond to ensure our family was comfortable and cared for while we surrounded Claribel with love. Also, a huge thanks to great granddaughter Krista Hirtle for being an amazing caregiver to Claribel this past year and always making sure she was comfortable, safe and loved.
