Obituary of Carl Standish Milheron

 

Carl Milheron - It is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Carl Standish Milheron on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born on April 25, 1937, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Carl was one of 16 children of Roy and Edna (Hawkes) Milheron. He spent his childhood in Juniper, NB, in his early teenage years, working at the local pulp mill and discovered a lifelong passion for music. A talented musician, Carl could play several instruments, including the harmonica, guitar, and banjo.

In 1961, Carl moved to Fredericton, NB, where he began his family and his career in the sewing machine business. In 1974, they relocated to Bridgewater, where Carl opened the Bridgewater Sewing Center and proudly owned and operated a Singer dealership. Known for his tireless work ethic and dedication, Carl officially retired in 2008 but remained involved with the business—still helping out daily at the shop until the day before his passing.

Carl loved the outdoors and especially treasured the annual fishing trips he took with his sons and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a hard worker, and someone who lived life with determination, kindness, and resilience.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Denise; sons Neil (Reta), Wayne (Susan); daughter, Joanne. Grandchildren, Robby (Katie) Brittany, Frank, Evan (Kaitlyn),Josh(Nikki), Megan (Kenny) Jacob, Jessica, Emma (Scott), Lucas (Emily), Abbie (Nate); great grandchildren, Carter, Teigen, Liam, Parker and Sawyer; sisters, Leona Dickinson, Doreen (David) McLean, Helen Byram, Darlene (Donnie) McGarity, Arlene Ahmad; brothers, Darrell Milheron, Weldon Milheron, Robert (Rosalie) Milheron, and Paul (Nancy) Milheron.

He was predeceased by his son, Trent; both parents; brothers, Wilfred, Roy Jr., Gerald “Teddy”, Jimmie, and Glen; sister, Carolyn.

Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025 in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 115 Pleasant Street, Bridgwater. Father Keith Billard officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s memory may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Society or a charity of choice.
