Obituary of Theodore Phillip Mader

 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Theodore “Teddy/Ted” Mader, who passed away at his home, in Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Teddy was the son of the late Dennis and Virginia (Tanner) Mader.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; his daughter, Trisha (Nick); his son, Cory (Shelby); and his cherished grandchildren, Ella Margaret and Oliver Theodore. He is also survived by his siblings: Ivan, Gordon (Thelma), Ross, Dennis (Wendy), Richard, Eric (Annette), Allen (Valerie), Barrie (Ken), Dawn, Faye (Darrell Penney), Judith (Joseph Mullins), Patricia, Dianne, and Kimberley; Teddy will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Marilyn, Doris, and Carol Ann, and his brother, David.

Teddy was currently employed at Michelin Tires (Canada) Ltd. in Bridgewater, where he had worked for 38 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf with friends, working on projects around the house, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

A public graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Epworth United Cemetery, 131 School Street, New Germany. with Reverend Catherine Robar officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.

Rest easy, Teddy, Dad, and Grampie. You are deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
