Forward, Paul Rayfield – Age 60 of Springfield, Annapolis Co., passed away at home on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born in Lunenburg, February 20, 1965, he was a son of the late Raymond and Melissa (Wheeler) Forward.
Paul is survived by his wife, Debbie (Varner); daughter, Jacklyn Forward, Bridgewater; son, Jordan (Jenna) Beeler, Lunenburg; brothers, Johnny Forward, Bridgewater, Wade (Stephanie) Forward, Baker Settlement, and Rodney (Christine) Forward, Oakhill; grandchildren, Ashton, Daisy, and Traci; niece, Sabrina; nephews, Jordan and Ryan, and many, many cousins.
Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Gregory “Bumper” Forward.
Paul loved the guitar and enjoyed playing and singing in bands in Lunenburg County. He had many friends he lovingly referred to as “his brothers from other mothers” and liked to recall their many adventures. Paul was very proud of all the kids, how far they’ve come, and where they are going in life. He had a great appreciation for all family, friends (old and new), all jammers, and his music lovers for all their support throughout his battle. He had the most fun playing with his cousin Wayne and the gang. Paul had much love for everyone in his life.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation for nurse Kalyee Hyson, the doctors, VON, and all those involved who helped us through Paul’s battle. A private family service will take place at a later date. Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to The Command Benevolent Fund in support of Nova Scotia’s Veterans. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater where online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
