Obituary of Pauline Marcella Wentzell

WENTZELL, Pauline Marcella – Age 94, Petite Riviere, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Ryan Hall Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where she had been residing.

Born June 19, 1931, in Chelsea, she was a daughter of the late Zola and Susan (Butler) Heim; and her foster parents, Clyde and Ada Conrad.

Surviving is her daughters, Frances Woodsworth Dalley (Fred), Brandenton, Florida; Jo-Anne Wentzell, Charleston; Valerie (Jamie) DeBaie, Porters Lake; sons, Robert (Sherry) Wentzell, Mount Pleasant; Roderick Wentzell, Bridgewater; James (Karen) Wentzell, Hebbville; sister, Beverley Fraser, Oak Hill; grandchildren, Donnie (Stephanie) Woodsworth, Colin (Kathy) Woodsworth, Michelle Himmelman, Margo Himmelman, Brittany (Michael) Tudball, Matthew MacDonald, Jennifer DeBaie, Justin (Melanie) DeBaie, Sierra Wentzell (Jacob), Nicholas Wentzell and Noah Wentzell; many loving great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and foster parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Loxley Wentzell; sisters, Carolyn Heim and Margaret Heim; brothers, Robert, Chester, Lawrence, Everette and Andrew; and was well cared for and loved by her extended foster family.

A Reception in Celebration of Pauline’s life, will be held from 1-3 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2025 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A private family interment will then follow in St. Michael’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Petite Riviere. Rev. Oliver Osmond officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
