Obituary of Lloyd Nathan Lantz

LANTZ, Lloyd Nathan - Age 95, of Upper LaHave, passed away quietly at home following a short illness, with his family at his side.

Born in Pleasantville, NS, to S. Paul and Evelyn (Leary) Lantz, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a shipwright, and also built his own home.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lila Gladys (Kaizer) Lantz; sons, Russ, Upper LaHave; Paul (Sue), Pleasantville, Kevin (Joan), Front Center, Terry (Loretta), Back Center; grandchildren, Christopher (Jinath), Jason, John, Stephen (Tammy), Matthew, Michael (Kari), Nathan (Amber), Nicole (Nathan) Lam, Scott; great grandchildren, Tara, Josiah, August, Chloe and Clementine; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, and infant granddaughter, Sarah E. Lantz; siblings, Charles, Pearl (Rex) Schofield, Arleen (Harley) Brown, Emily (Cameron) Conrod, Gladys (William) Rhodenizer, Phyllis (Edson) Himmelman, Gordon (Annie), and Luetta (Keith) Joudrey.

Lloyd was a founding member of the Dayspring and District Fire Department, he was Warden and Council Member of the Former St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Upper LaHave and served many years as a director of the Dayspring Cemetery Company. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish.

There will be no memorial service by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the IWK Children's Hospital, VON, the Canadian Red Cross, or charity of choice. Interment will be held at a later date in Dayspring Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
