Obituary of Gertrude Leggie

Gertrude Frances Leggie 86, of Wentzell’s Lake, Lunenburg County, passed away April 21, 2002 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Dayspring, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Hiram and Hattie (Fraser) Franklin. She was a long time resident of Wentzell’s Lake. She was a member of both the Rebecca Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Bishop, Wentzell’s Lake; Linda (Warren) Meisner, Texas; 5 grandchildren, William (Susan) Bishop, Ottawa; Michelle (Ted) Pretty, Peter (Barbara) Bishop, Tom (Burnadette) Bishop, all of Kentville; Eric (Janice) Meisner, Texas; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren, a brother, George (Marilla) Franklin, Pentz; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Emerson, sisters, Marion, Olive, Helen; brothers, Laurence, Harold, a sister in infancy. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9pm with an Eastern Star Service being held at 7pm all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Burial of ashes will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield.
