Obituary of Patrick McGurie

Patrick McGuire Passed away February 6, 2002 at home in west LaHave, Lunenburg County after a long battle with colo-rectal cancer. Born on January 23, 1942 in Saskatoon, he was the fifth child of the late Ernest and Janet (Cowden) McGuire. Patrick grew up in Hanley and Prince Albert, Sask. He attended the Alberta College of Art in Calgary and pursued a career in art, commercial art and advertising in the Toronto area before moving to Nova Scotia in 1990. He is the loving husband of Carol Alexander; the father of Camille (Toronto), Brenndan (Nicole), Vancouver Island; Molly, California, and grandson, Sam; the talented and fun loving brother of Dan (June), Jack (Daphne), Sheila (Neil) Ross, Maureen, Brian (Carol), Larry (Shirley) and Mike (Nancy); the cousin of Anne, Alan, Mike, Josh, Luke and many more in PEI and NS; an uncle to many nieces and nephews in BC and Sask. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the South Shore Palliative Care through Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater or at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
