Obituary of Douglas Silver

Douglas Eugene Silver 63, Watford, Lunenburg Co., passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. Born in Watford he was a son of Oscar Silver, New Germany and the late Ruth (Spidle) Silver. He was a truck driver for many years until retirement, then recently, Douglas sold fresh produce in the village of New Germany. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield, and past member of the New Germany and Area Lions Club and Royal Canadian Legion branch 102, New Germany. Surviving are his wife the former Betty Robar, daughter, Bonnie (Earl) Meisner, Bridgewater. Sons, Jerry, Watford; Kevin, Bridgewater. Sister, Marlene (Arnold Jr.) Demone, New Germany. Brother, Allister (Frances) Silver, Scarsdale. Grandchildren, Michael, Dylan, Brandon, Brett, Shelby, also several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m., Thursday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany, where memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Jim Slack officiating, burial will be at a later date.
