Oscar Glenwood Silver
90, New Germany, formerly of Watford, Lunenburg Co., passed away Monday, November 25, 2002 at his daughter’s home in New Germany. Born in Watford he was a son of the late Charles and Alice (Lantz) Silver. He was a carpenter and worked for various local companies. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his daughter, Marlene (Arnold Jr.) Demone, New Germany; son, Allister (Frances) Silver, Scarsdale, daughter in law Betty Silver, Watford. Nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former Ruth Spidle and son Douglas; brother, Foster, half brothers, James, Percy, Stanley; half sisters, Nellie, Beulah and Della. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m., Wednesday, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m., Thursday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Rev. William Gustafson officiating, burial will follow in the Upper Northfield Cemetery.
