Obituary of Darrell Donaldson

Dr. G. Darrell Donaldson 98, of Blockhouse, Lunenburg County, passed away October 16, 2003 in the Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in West New Annan, N.S., he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Porteous) Donaldson. He was a long time physician and anaesthiologist in Lunenburg County, until his retirement in 1968. He was a resident of the Happy Haven Seniors Guest Home in Petite Riviere for the last 18 months. He is survived by his son, John (Brenda) Donaldson, Blockhouse; grandchildren, Blaine Donaldson, Iron Mountain, Michigan; Kimberley O’Toole, Dartmouth; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife , the former M. Marguerite Berry; son, Paul Bernard Donaldson; brothers, Lloyd C. Donaldson, William Donaldson, John P. Donaldson, Raymond Donaldson, Harold Donaldson; sister, Annie Treen. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday from the Bridgewater Open Bible Church, corner of Exhibition Dr. and Jubilee Rd., Bridgewater, Pastor Darel Tozer and Pastor Chesley MacKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of N.S. or the Bridgewater Open Bible Church.
