Obituary of John Frauze
John Ronald Frauze
78, of Bridgewater, NS died Wednesday May 10, 2001 at the QE11 Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Chelsea, he was the eldest son of the late Charles and Frances (Butler) Frauzel. He served in the armed forces during the Second World War, from 1939 to 1945 overseas. He attended Acadia University after the war. He was Vice Principal of the newly opened Oxford Regional High School from 1952 to 1967, then principal until his retirement in 1984. He served a mission for his church with his wife Margaret in Minnesota. He was a long time member of the Canadian Cancer Society and helped to raise money to build the Lodge That Gives. He was a avid sports fan and gardener, and was especially dedicated to his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Jodry); daughter Jane, Park City, Utah; sons John David, Tuscan, Arizona; Stephen, Moscow, Russia; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother Glendon (Lorraine), Beaver Tail Basin, Queens Co.; Roderick (companion Belle), Chelsea; sisters Evelyn Tabrett, Lachine, Quebec; June (Byard) Thurber, Pugwash; Betty (Bill) Warrell, Dartmouth. He was predeceased by brother Paul and sister Norma Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bridgewater, Bishop Herbert Seymour officiating. Interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Chelsea. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation; CNIB, P.O. Box 8624 Station A, Halifax NS, B3K 9Z9; Canadian Cancer Society; or to a charity of choice.
