Obituary of Mary Judge

Mary Grace Judge 92, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on June 21, 2003. Born in Baker Settlement, she was the eldest daughter of the late Frank T. and Elva Mae (Wentzell) Carver. She began her teaching career at the age of 16 and continued for 48 years, the last five of which she served as the first Principal of West Northfield Elementary Consolidated School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Germany, Retired Teacher’s Association, past Noble Grand of Hawthorn Rebekah Lodge, member and past secretary of Mae Chapter #38 of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her second husband Asbury Height, Cookville; sisters, Myrtle Taylor, Barss Corner; Barbara Penney, New Germany; Grace (Ralph) Corkum, Bridgewater; Catherine Alford, Nepean, Ont.. Brother, Hiram (Ruth) Carver, New Germany; caregivers, Beatrice and Raymond Durling, Simpsons Corner, Corinna Durling, New Germany, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Phares Judge and brother Frank. Visitation, 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, #4895 route 10, New Germany with an Eastern Star memorial service at 6:45 p.m.. Funeral 2 p.m., Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, New Germany. Rev. Larry Ehrhardt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
