Obituary of Marjorie Oakes

Marjorie Joan Oaks 53, of Bridgewater passed away January 29, 2003 at home. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of Marion (Baker) Getson of Springfield and the late Lawrence Getson Sr. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; daughter, Dawn (Ryan) Goldsmith, Oakhill; son, Ricky (Tiffany Surette) Robar, Cornwall; 2 grandchildren, Dylan and Michael Robar; sisters, Margaret (Aubrey) McCarthy, Hebbville; Marsha (Paul) Veinot, Springfield; brother, Lawrence Jr. (Darlene), Newcombville. Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2:30pm Saturday in St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. James Slack Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St Paul’s Lutheran Church or Muscular Dystrophy Society.
