James Obediah Stewart
98, Hebb’s Cross, passed away April 29, 2003 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Camperdown, he was a son of the late George and Effie (Sarty) Stewart. He was a farmer and worked for many years at the South Shore Exhibition. He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, Camperdown. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, the former Lillian Boliver; his daughters, Myrtle (David) Gillis, Dartmouth; Sylvia (Walter) Young, East Ironbound Island; his son, Harold (Sheila) Stewart, Belmont. Brothers, Carl Stewart, Camperdown; Harvey (Janet) Stewart, Springhill. Sisters, Lillian Harmon, Bridgewater; Elva (Carmon) Naugler, Camperdown. Grandsons, David (Donna), Peter Young, Robert Gillis, James and Ian Stewart; granddaughters, Diane and Elaine Young, Heather-Anne Gillis; great granddaughters, Nancy and Sarah Young; brother-in-law, Calvin Naugler; sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Ellen Stewart; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by infant daughter, Helen; infant son, Vernon; brothers, Bruce, Kenneth and Russell Stewart; sisters, Carrie Selig, Pearl Whynot and Stella Naugler. Visitation, 3-4 p.m., Thursday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral will be 2 p.m., Friday in Christ Lutheran Church, Camperdown. Rev. Willis Ott officiating.
