Obituary of Gladys Wile

Gladys Mabelle Wile 83, of Halifax, formerly of Italy Cross, Lunenburg County, passed away October 16, 2003 in the Q E II Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Italy Cross, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Jessie (Herman) McCarthy. She is survived by her children, Donald (Eileen) Wile, Halifax; Brenda (Denis) Fortin, Sackville; James (Jane) Wamboldt, Back Center; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Francis (Dean) Harmon, Hebbville; Marion Dill, Bridgewater; Una Corkum, Bridgewater; Marina (Edward) Corkum, Italy Cross; brothers, Henry (Helen) McCarthy, Italy Cross; George McCarthy, Italy Cross; Gordon (Joan) McCarthy, Wileville; Harry (Sadie) McCarthy, Somerset. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; sisters, Jenny, Esther; brothers, Emerson, Cecil and Arthur. Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and from where funeral service will be held 2:30pm Saturday, Rev Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Leaf Cemetery, Conquerall Bank. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
