Obituary of Elmer Alonzo Whynott

WHYNOTT, Elmer Alonzo – Age 78, New Germany, Lunenburg co., passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Rosedale Home for Special Care, where he resided for three years.

Born in Cherryfield, he was the son of the late Harold and Kathleen (Conn) Whynott.

Elmer worked in the forestry industry for the majority of his life. In earlier years when work was scarce he picked apples in the United States. During his spare time, Elmer could be found hunting, fishing or playing cards.

Surviving are his sister, Edith Whynott, New Germany; daughters, Geraldine, Vivian DeBaie and Heather Whynott, all of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Patricia (Darrell) Emmons, Victoria Lowe (Sam Emmons), all of Bridgewater; Russell Lowe (Meaghan), Edmonton; Blair DeBaie Jr., Halifax; great-grandchildren, Shinka and Cody, both of Bridgewater; Logan, Riverport; Hayden, Edmonton. Elmer was predeceased by his wife Julia of 49 years; brothers, Clinton and Milton; son-in-law, Blair DeBaie; granddaughter, Julie DeBaie.

No visitation at the funeral home by request of the family. Service 1 p.m., Saturday, June 10 in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany. Mr. Lloyd Peddle officiating. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
