Obituary of Arnold Albert Joudrey

JOUDREY, Arnold Albert - Age 92 of Lower Northfield, Lunenburg Co., passed away suddenly on January 25, 2018. Born December 13, 1925, he was the older son of Robert “Clyde” Joudrey and Beatrice Mabel (Fancy) Joudrey. His parents, his brother, Robert, and his nephew, David Joudrey, predecease him.

He is survived by his sister, Helen (Lawrence Bruhm); sister in law, Marilyn Joudrey; nephews, William “Bill” (Cynthia) and Steven Bruhm (Peter Schwenger) and nieces, Ann Nauss (Tremayne) and Beth Uhlman (Laurie Henley). Also, grand nephews and nieces, Benjamin Bruhm (Ashley Hull) and Simon Bruhm (Emily Colin), Jordan and Logan Nauss and Chelsea and Jacob Uhlman.

Arnold loved his farm. He enjoyed watching the tall grass blowing in the wind before it was baled into hay, the cattle feeding in the pastures surrounding his home, and looking out of his bedroom window at night to watch the moon and the stars in the eastern sky. He worked the land to his end, surrounded by his multitude of cats, his rosebushes and flowers and more than one big jug of maple syrup. If Arnold could thank one person, it would be Dr. Colin Mann, Bridgewater, who gave him back his eyesight and independence a number of years ago. His family would like to thank Arnold’s neighbors Merle and Elaine Zinck, and Troy Mackay and Annette Dauphinee for being our eyes and ears when we weren’t there.

There will be no visitation prior to the service. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, West Northfield. Rev. Svante Olson officiating. A reception will follow at the West Northfield Community Centre.

Family flowers only. The family would appreciate memorial donations to Maple Grove Cemetery or St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, West Northfield.
