Obituary of Harold Leon Wilneff

WILNEFF, Harold Leon – Age 85, of Bridgewater, Lunenburg co., passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Albert and Ruth (Oickle) Wilneff.

He worked for many years at the former LaHave Creamery, which was situated on LaHave Street. This was followed by being self-employed in the carpentry business. He was an associate member of the Bridgewater Legion, branch 24, Bridgewater; a member of Zion Lutheran Church Men’s Choir in Lunenburg and a faithful member of Bridgewater United Church and choir. Harold’s greatest enjoyment came from entertaining and singing, touch the hearts of everyone he ever met. In his earlier years, he was an ardent performer in the annual hospital chorus shows and was also a member of the Lunenburg Barbershop singers which was a world-wide organization. He is survived by his wife, the former, Phyllis Haughn; daughters, Patricia Wilneff, Vicki (Jeff) Wilkins, all of Bridgewater; granddaughter, Amy Bolivar, Bridgewater; brother, Douglas (Sheila), Bridgewater.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Walter. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 19^th in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Bridgewater United Church, Bridgewater with Angela Clifton officiating. Reception will follow the service in the Christian Education Center of Bridgewater United. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Harbour View Haven Nursing Home for Special Care.
