Obituary of Marjorie Mae Robar

ROBAR, Marjorie M. (Mailman) – Recently residing at Mahone Bay Nursing Home and formerly of Chelsea, passed away on March 2, 2020. Born on March 18, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Jennie (Wentzell) Mailman.

Marjorie is survived by sons, Charles (Yvonne), Newcombville; Garry, Mahone Bay; Jeffrey (Krista), Chelsea; daughters, Gloria (Byron) Winters, Bridgewater; Linda (Rodger) Demond, Bridgewater; Heather (Wayne) Weagle, Cookville; Patricia (Warren) Sarty; Conquerall Mills; and daughter-in-law, Heather Robar, Chelsea; cherished grandmother of Neil Winters, Lesia West, Robin Moore, Annette Demond, Pamela Demond, Angela Robar, Nancy McLaughlin, Tracy Eisner, Jason Carver, Jessica Lawlor, Amanda Robar, Ashley Robar-Matherson, Kayla Robar, Alex Robar; great grandmother to Robyn and Michael West, Mckenzie and Camdyn Kelly, Kaitlyn Eisner, Charlie McLaughlin, Taylor and Logan Carver and Adalyn Matherson; brother, Donald Mailman, Chelsea; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert; sons, Gerald (in infancy) and Roger; great granddaughter, Morgan Eisner; sisters, Thelma Oickle, Inez and Rosalie Mailman; brothers, Russell, Doran, Bruce, Louie and Marshall Mailman.

She lived her life in Chelsea taking care of her family. She welcomed and enjoyed all who came in her life, even making many new friends in her years at Mahone Bay Nursing Home, in particular her roommate, Emily Rose. She showed her love with food taking great delight in putting up a tasty meal for family and friends. She was young at heart, always ready to play games, especially card games, even as her health was failing, nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than winning a game of crib.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater with a visitation on Thursday, March 5 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6 in Chelsea Baptist Church, Chelsea, Pastor Catharine Uhlman officiating. A burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chelsea. Donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Schelene Swinemer, RPN and the incredible staff at Mahone Bay Nursing Home for the love and care given to Mom during her stay there. We the family is of course sad as we watch her leave from this shore but take comfort that there are a lot of people waiting with open arms on the other shore. Love you and will miss you always.
