Obituary of Donna Marie Druggett

Druggett, Donna Marie (Shepherd) – age 62, of Wentzell Lake, NS, died at South Shore Regional Hospital on April 1, 2020.

Donna was born in Twillingate, NL on December 29, 1957, the eldest daughter of Robert and Edith Shepherd (Sheaves). After graduating from Herdman Collegiate in Corner Brook, NL in 1974, she joined Scotiabank where she had a full career until her retirement in 2012.

Donna was a woman of faith always involved in the life of the Christian Church. She loved music, played guitar, and was gifted with a beautiful voice. She sang in Church and community choirs through the years and was active in many other Church ministries in various places in NL and NS. Donna was a devoted mother and grandmother, blessed with two daughters and three grandsons, who were her pride and joy.

Donna is survived by her husband of 43 years, Rev. Gordon Druggett; daughters, Sara Druggett (Gakuto) and Erin Martin (Richard);  grandsons Connor, Issa, and Patrick;  parents Robert and Edith Shepherd;  sisters, Debra Humber (Ed) and Diane Shepherd; mother-in-law Nina Druggett; sister-in-law Daphne Connolly (Dan); brother-in-law Dwayne Druggett (Denise); several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She is predeceased by her father-in-law James Druggett.

Many thanks are extended to the Doctors and nursing staff who provided such compassionate care to Donna at Halifax Infirmary and South Shore Regional Hospital, and the many family and friends who showed such loving support.

An on-line streaming Service in Celebration for the Life of Donna will be held 7 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2020, Rev. Catherine Robar and the Right Reverend David Torraville officiating. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Breast Cancer Society of Canada, Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, or charity of choice. Interment has taken place in St. George's Anglican Cemetery, East River. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral home, 35 York St, Bridgewater.
