Cathy, Andrew and Alicia
I am so sorry for your loss
When I think of Wilson I smile, for I have so many wonderful memories.
Like the time Wilson called the salon where I was working 20 some odd years ago? He asked if anyone there was good at cutting beards? My boss said “Oh yes, absolutely!” She then proceeded to book Wilson Methven in with me to cut his hair and trim his beard. Oh God..... I haven’t had much experience in trimming beards, if I even had any!! I was so nervous but Wilson being Wilson made me feel right at home and had me laughing in no time. On his way out he booked another appointment and asked if I would cut his wife Cathys hair sometime.
THAT WAS MY LUCKY DAY because that is when our friendship started.
We had so many laughs over the years, more than I could possibly count.
At Christmas Wilson would often dress up special for us girls at the salon. My favourite time was when he came in with red satin Christmas shorts, nice shiny armoralled boots and a Christmas tree hat that lit up all nice. We went into hysterics!!
There was one visit he made to the salon that he made a point of letting me know that it had been way too long since his last haircut. When he pulled off his cap the top of his hair was pulled into a tiny ponytail with a dog bone in it, just like Pebbles from the “Flintstones.”
There was another time when he had me put blue colour in his beard because he was having a bbq and he wanted to give the kids a good laugh.
Wilson would quite often ask the client sitting in the chair next to him if their hairdresser ever showed them the back of their hair in the mirror because if they didn’t ,that for sure wasn’t a good sign. He also would ask them when they were going to get a real hairdresser to cut their hair?
Wilson , Cathy and I socialized many times over the years and our Hairdresser/client relationship turned into a friendship.
I am sure going to miss you Wilson, more than I can express. Life will never be the same without Wilson Methven in it, that goes without saying.
I am so thankful for all of the wonderful memories and to have known such a wonderful man.
Rest In Peace my friend. Xo

I met Wilson at Dartmouth High School. Our shared love of old cars brought us together with Owen Richie and an Old '35 Chevy I think in a small garage we rented on the Waverley Road. We lost contact after High School as our lives went in different directions.
I am saddened to learn of his passing. My condolences to the family. It is too bad i did not know where he lived as I have family around Bridgewater and visit fairly often.

Cathy, Andrew & Alicia,
I am so sorry for your loss.
Wilson was not only my best friend, he was like a brother to me. I know how Mary and I feel, so I cant imagine what you are going through.
Our entire family had great admiration and respect for Wilson, he was part of our family. Wilson was there when all my granchildren where born, when Samantha graduated from high school, and Wilson dove her and her friends in the New Yorker. He was there to celebrate Tanya and Derek's wedding, and again drove them in the New Yorker. He traveled to Disney for Shawna's wedding.
Mary and I had the good fortune to take many vacations with you guys, which left us with wonderful memories, some of which left Wilson and I with bumps, bruises and throbbing headaches. And to be truthful, I wish we could do them all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.
Wilson had many friends and he enjoyed being around them having fun, and pulling off some crazy shenanigans. This included creating the Boys weekend over 20 years ago, kissing the cod initiation, earthquake at the Red Fox, and many more. Wilson was always up for fun.
I am going to miss listening to the Head Pins after we have a few sociables. I am going to miss our team skeet shooting, pool tournament and poker games. I am going to miss our families getting together to celebrate just about anything.
But above all, I am going to miss my BEST FRIEND. God Bless you Brother!
“The bond between friends cannot be broken by chance; no interval of time or space can destroy it. Not even death itself can part true friends.”
