One that sticks out most was that she always scolded me for not being "ladylike",wearing pants, etc .

Dear Diane and family.
Our thoughts of sadness are for you as you continue your lives without dear Florence as she was a vital member of your family for many years. Living to become 95-1/2 years of age, includes many memories made together that you will all cherish. We will all miss her, but remember her for her dedication and support to her church and community. Florence and Garfield were very instrumental in the formation and building of All Saints Lutheran Church and were always supportive of all the activities involved. Florence was especially committed to the women’s groups, LCW and ELW. We will always remain thankful to have had her in our lives and grateful for her wisdom and friendship she willingly shared.

Dear Diane and All of Florence’s Family,
So sorry to hear of your Mother’s death. She will certainly be missed as a pillar of strength in the community of Newcombville. I remember when I first met her while I was dating my late husband - she welcomed me so warmly and graciously that it touched my heart. Diane and Family:: We don't know where to begin, as living in Newcombville with Florence (and Garfield) as neighbours, we have so many fond memories. The visits we enjoyed at their home, the church, the wonderful tea and cookies and so many other goodies. Florence would appear at our door with an electrical appliance (kettle/iron) for Wayne to fix, and he almost always got them to work. She would ask what she owed, and of course he was delighted to help her, but shortly after we would find her back at our door with a freshly baked "warm" loaf of her delicious white bread --- no better reward. Visits later led to Florence's apartments where she continued to grow beautiful African Violets, and serve tea and her baked items. She so enjoyed her Morning Glories and humming bird outside her window. She LOVED company and didn't want you to leave. Eventually we visited her at Harbour View Haven, where she was so delighted to see us and talk about how content she was there. Particularly, it was a delight to see her at special events where Wayne and his sister entertained the residents with music.
She was always so grateful for what her special daughter and family and friends did for her. She was an admirable lady with a strong faith and lived a very fulfilling life --- and we are thankful to have been a small part of it. We will miss her, but will cling to all the great memories.
