I met Patricia before this past Christmas so did not know her very well. I enjoyed reading these other tributes to her life and to hear of her love of cats and that she operated a boarding business for them, It appears that we had much in common so am saddened that I was unable to get to know her. May she rest in peace.

I was saddened to read of Patti’s death. Many years have passed since I’ve seen her, but the old memories are sweet. As teens, we shared a profound love of horses. Patti was a devoted owner of her beloved horse, Lancer, shown in the enclosed photos. Many happy times were spent riding together and even sharing an occasional Rogers and Hammerstein duet on piano, amid much laughter. Ride on, dear Patti, and thanks for your friendship.

I'm so sorry to learn of Pat's passing. We met during the period when she operated a cat boarding business where my cats always enjoyed her expert care and the excellent cat-friendly space she had created. During cat drop off and pick ups we always chatted about her garden which she loved and tended with care. Pat generously gave divisions, roots and cuttings for my garden. When faced with life challenges, Pat carried on with quiet perseverance.. She had a good soul.

Pat was my neighbour in Lunenburg for the last 20 or so years. I've missed our daily chats as she walked Rudy past my place. Pat was a kind, sweet soul who didn't suffer fools. Rest in peace dear Pat.

Second Story Women's Centre is saddened to share that one of our sisters passed away recently. (Sheila) Pat Hocking was a true friend to the staff of SSWC and was a former staff member herself. She visited often, almost always with her beloved dog, Rudi. At home, she loved her cats as well. Pat was very social and could be seen walking around Lunenburg daily and visiting with friends. She was a great storyteller and contributed meaningfully to her community. We will miss Pat (and her amazing smile) dearly.

Dear Pat loved animals and in her youth was an ardent horsewoman. She loved nature and was very happy when she was outdoors walking her dear Rudi. She greatly appreciated the beauty of nature and was knowledgeable about birds and their ways.
She also really loved a good cup of coffee! We will miss you Pat.

I knew Patti very well. I worked at her dad Bill's accounting firm for 10 years back in the 70s. He taught me everything I needed to know to spend my entire career in accounting. Patti worked with us for a while. Many happy remembrances of evenings spent at their home on Alexandra in Bridgewater. Bill, Sheila, Nancy, Patti, and for a short time, Billy Jr., always treated me as if I were a member of their wonderful, loving family. They are all deeply, deeply in my heart.

I was very sad to hear of Pat’s death. We had lost touch over the last few years; but her little Rudi and my boy Obi had been best four-legged buddies and the four of us enjoyed many, many walks together. Rest In peace, Pat.
