Obituary of Edna Alice Weldon

WELDON, Edna Alice – It is with great sadness that the family of Edna Alice Weldon of Bridgewater announces her passing on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in Petite Riviere, Edna was the daughter of the late Wallace and Dorothy Gear.

 

Edna went to school in Bridgewater. Then she went to Halifax and took a Bookkeeping Course. After that she worked at Peoples Jewellers in Halifax. She returned to Bridgewater and worked at the Bridgewater Bulletin until she retired.

 

Edna was a member of the Bridgewater Branch #24 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Elks Royal Purple Lodge, a member of the Bridgewater Seniors Club and she also served on the Board of Directors for Hillside Pines.

 

Enda is survived by her son, Wallace (Debbie) Hall, Lunenburg; granddaughter, Lisa; grandson, Gavin; great grandchildren; Jim, Susie, Angus and Mae; brother, Tom (Margaret) Gear; sister-in-law, Pat Gear; many nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her 1st husband, George Hall; 2nd husband, Ralph Weldon; brothers, Wilfred (Margaret) Gear and Gordon Gear; infant great grandson, Wally.

 

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A grave side service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbour View Haven or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.

 

Due to COVID Regulations: Face masks are suggested as well as Social Distancing is required.
