I have lost one of my dearest friends. Carl was a big part of the life of Arthur and I. Sailing on Ocean Commotion or other boats was the glue of their friendship, but just as important was Carl's respect and caring for his friends. There was never a time that you needed something that he was not there. During the years that Arthur's health was failing, Carl was always there to help. Known affectionately as "Captain Carl" he will be remembered by many as "best friend". I will miss his smile, his wit, and his stories over a shared glass of wine. My sincerest sympathy and thanks to Colette whose constant care and love kept Carl with us for much longer than anticipated. Rest in peace dear friend. Marie

To the family,
Sorry to hear about Carl. Constantly active in both his business and personal life, it was most unfortunate he had to endure the relentless progression of Parkinson's. May he be at peace.

Dear Collette and family,
So sorry to hear of Carls passing. His love of life and sparkle in his eye I'll always remember. Some of my best laughs were in the goose blind in PEI, as we had plenty of time for jokes and stories. The time Carl forgot his boots at the camp on this rainy day and was outfitted to a T in camo gear except for his leather loafers!! Meal time was gonna be the best when Carl put his apron on.
Those were great times . He will be missed. Jamie Cochrane

I always had so much fun when we visited Uncle Carl. Years ago on Ocean Commotion with no wind in our sails and the motor not working to bring us to shore. We had many laughs on that trip. And years later with my family boating up and down the river making new and lasting memories. You will be forever in our hearts.
Love Shaunna, Dave, Drew and Jocelyn xoxo

I was very sorry to hear of Uncle Carl's passing. I have many memories of Christmases and visits to Brooklyn when here in Ontario. Then in NS there were BBQ feasts and dinners, the never to be forgotten ride on Ocean Commotion, and boating along the LaHave. He will never be forgotten as our Christmas tree is always trimmed with Amos ornaments that he and Aunt Jody started us on and Uncle Carl continued over the years. My heartfelt condolences to Collette, Alan, Tracey, Brodie, and Kyle.
Our deepest sympathy

My now deceased partner Dick Muise and I visited with Carl in Bridgewater. Dick spoke highly of Carl and although Dick was battling his own brain disorder he enjoyed seeing Carl and reminiscing about Mac Donalds. Dick and his sister Claire also enjoyed visits with him when she was visiting us from New Hampshire. I am sorry for your loss. It was a difficult journey for both Carl and your family.
