Hugh was a great guy! I dealt with him daily about new stock and bond issues when I worked for Midland Walwyn in Toronto. I would always give him extra stock since he was such a nice guy.

We are so sorry to hear about Hugh’s passing. On behalf of all our staff here at CIBC Wood Gundy in Atlantic Canada we extend to you our deepest sympathy. Hugh along with Hiowie Anderson hired me in the business in 1997.I had the privilege of working with him at Midland,Merrill and CIBC. Many of us in the business are here because of Hugh and his efforts.

Bev, Mary Jane, Sean, Eric, Joe and your extended family:
I considered Hugh a dear friend and outside of my family one of a pair of my closest friends. The time of this relationship has been far too short and is an extreme loss to me. I wish I would've acted sooner when I noticed a change but it was such a personal subject that I waited far too long to discuss it with him.. Lunenburg County and the world has lost a very friendly man.
So sorry for all of you, I know he will be severely missed.
