Hazel's children and her home were her pride and joy. She was very spiritual and took great comfort in her faith as a member of the Baptist church. She loved spending time at the lake, travelling, and a great game of cards. Hazel would sit anytime for a game of Yahtzee and was thrilled when she won. She loved to hear a good joke and tell a good joke, to make people smile. Hazel was a Brownie and Girl Guide Leader in her early years and loved to offer a helping hand. She had a wonderful passion for birds, especially hummingbirds which she would watch in fascination for hours. Hazel had wonderful friends who helped and comforted her, sharing her life experiences throughout the years.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hazel’s memory may be made to the Lunenburg County SPCA. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com

We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Our lives go on without you

But nothing stays the same

We have to hide our heartache

When someone speaks your name

Sad are the hearts that love you

Silent are the tears that fall

Living here without you

Is the hardest part of all

You did so many things for us

Your heart was kind and true

And when we needed someone

We could always count on you

The special years will not return

When we are altogether

But with the love in our hearts

You walk with us forever
