Obituary of Charlie Shawn Veinot

Veinot, Charlie Shawn Ivan – Age 13 of Barss Corner, Lunenburg County, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in the IWK Health Centre, Halifax with his family around him. Born August 31, 2008, to Andrea and Shawn Veinot of Barss Corner.

Charlie was a fun seeking child with a heart of gold. He loved his dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandparents, siblings, and nephews. Charlie greeted people with questions. He was always lending a helping hand to neighbours.

Surviving are his parents, Andrea (Rybarski) and Shawn Veinot; sister, Taylor Wentzel (Colby); brother, Riley Veinot (Amber); nephews, Ryker, Blaze, and Sterling Wentzel; grandparents, Sharon, and Ivan Veinot; aunts, Becky (Matt) and Heidi (Larry); cousins, Terence Smith, Tessa Smith, Jai Rybarski, Grace Simms, Colby Simms; many great uncles, aunts, and cousins.

The family would like to thank staff at the IWK Oncology Department. Doctors, nurses, PT, and pain team, you made his stay bearable and comfortable. We felt like family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the IWK Health Centre or SHAID animal shelter.
