Bernard, Darren, Nadine, Carolyn: deepest condolences in the passing of John. Anyone who knew, worked, or met John immediately knew he was a true genuine gentleman. His tall stature was overshadowed by his kind personality and soft spoken words. His contribution to the community was enjoyed by all. Sincerely, Glen and Anne-Marie Veinot

My wife and I own a three story home that is completely trimmed in heavy oak. In the early eighties your father installed two full oak staircases, furred out and trimmed 18 windows and four glass doors, did the trim for several interior doorways, installed all interior doors and baseboards, etc. When we first met he asked if I wanted a fixed price quote. We had invested substantial money in oak material and I wanted the job done right. I told him that I didn't want him to be rushed and opted for paying him by the hour, as I thought that would be a win win situation. It was. After changing the radio to Country 101 my wife and I would go to work and leave our home to him. Upon our daily return it was always exciting to see what he had accomplished; and he never disappointed. More than 40 years later we often reminisce about him. We knew him as an honest, hard working master craftsman. We will never forget him.

Our condolences to Bernard, Peggie and Carolyn. We're sure there is a great presence missing in Bridgewater and New Germany.
To know Uncle John was to love him and to love him was to know him. In the few summers we visited him in New Germany with Uncle Ivan we always had more than a few laughs and memories to bring back home to Ontario. Not to mention a few new sayings. We will always cherish our memories. RIP Uncle John. Love you

My sincere condolences to John’s family and friends. While we lived in New Germany I had the privilege of working with John on various projects, most notably improvements to the Anglican Rectory which was across the road from our home. Working with him was a treat. He was methodical and thorough with everything and I learned something new every day. His gentle demeanor and quick wit brightened everyone’s day. John was a very special man and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
