Obituary of Robert Laurin Veinot

VEINOT, Robert Laurin – Age 78, Nineveh, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born on December 27, 1944 in Hemford, he was a son of the late Guilford Oswald and Winnifred Audrey (Smith) Veinot.

During Robert’s working years in the 1970’s, he was employed with Riverport Seafoods Fish Plant as well as Michelin Tires Canada – Bridgewater plant for several years; he then become a woodsman, where he worked for various companies, but for the last five years, prior to his retirement at the age of 65, he worked for Elmer Lohnes’ Lumber Mill.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Lynda Gail (Tufts) Veinot; daughters, Cheri Veinot (Michael Dagley), LaHave; Nova (Tracy) Veinot, Lower Branch; son, Robert Jr. “Robbie”, Bridgewater; sisters, Deborah (Bernard) Mosher, Darleen (Dwight) Woodworth, all of Nineveh; brothers, Mervyn (Betty), Colpton; Wilfred, Toronto; Carson, Nineveh; Boyd (Letty), Grand Prairie, Alb.; grandchildren, Devon Veinot, Pinehurst; Chance Veinot, Dartmouth; Michael Veinot, Nineveh; brother and sister in-law, Ian and Daphney Tufts; many nieces and nephews; and their beloved cat, Thimble.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Annette Veinot; brothers, Roland, Allen, Raeburn, Danny and Lorne; nephew, Trevor Veinot; father and mother in-law, Guy and Pearle Tufts.

A private family graveside service will take place in Hemford Community Cemetery, Hemford. No flowers please, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, South Shore Regional Hospital or to a charity of choice.
