Dear Rod, I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. I first met Mabel Jane at the Bridgewater Library on King Street. She was a force of nature! Dressed to the nines with a sparkle in her eye, we witnessed what it was like to live each day to the fullest. When Mabel Jane would say, "This book was SO good!", I grabbed it for myself as we had the same taste in reading material It was an honour to choose books for your mother when she no longer could get to us in person. Of course, my cherished memory was my visit with her at home. Still the same Mabel Jane! Her passing leaves a big void in the hearts of you and your family. But, I do know you are blessed with the memories of an incredible Mom! To you and all your family, you have my heartfelt condolences. Mabel Jane will always be with you. I sincerely wish for you peace and comfort as you go forward...

That was a wonderful remembrance. I love that Mabel Jane received a courteous driver award! I knew Mabel Jane mostly through her son Rod. I remember her love of music and her amazing sense of humour. She and Rod would play off of each other until I was in tears. She was a real one of a kind person, and I know she loved her family very, very much. Rod and family,my deepest condolences to you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss.Mabel Jane was one of a kind;a force of nature...a keen mind,always curious,an amazing woman.I remember fondly conversations with he;,on her once a week visits to the Bridgewater library. She was a staunch supporter of the library,and a faithful patron over the years.I wish the family comfort in this time of mourning.

To the family, I met Mabel Jane many years ago through her late husband Donnie Naugler. My home was not far from the Naugler home and I remember walking out to Corkum's Island often. What I do remember of Mabel Jane was her style, always done up just so, everything matching/coordinated, impeccably dressed. She always said hello any time I saw her in the stores. My sweet grandmother. So thoughtful, loving, and fiercely intelligent. I'm so happy I was able to know you as an adult, and I'm even happier you never changed. I will remember you singing Happy Birthday to me over the phone every year, it was always a little bit magical to feel so loved. You will be missed by all lucky enough to have you in their lives. What a lovely tribute to a fine lady. Mabel Jane lived an exemplary life and valued all her friends and family. It was our honor to play and sing with her in two ukulele groups for many years and she sang happy birthday to us every year. We were the recipients of her kindness on many occasions. She occasionally surprised us with some of the books she chose. We will make a donation to the Margaret Hennigar Library in Mabel Jane’s memory.
