Fond memories of Ester many years ago. Their strawberry fields provided me my first job picking berries for i think .5 cents a box, thought i had the world by the tail. She was always kind, lovely lady

Mrs Bond was my neighbour growing up in Hebbville. I have childhood memories of playing in her house and yard, climbing her pear tree and playing with her dog Dusty. Ms Bond was always kind and welcoming. She would have touched many people through her years. Condolences to her family.

Ester was a client of mind at Parkstone,was a joy to see her we laughed a lot ,talked about her pass how she met her husband,and watched the soaps when I had a minute ,,Condolences to the family

We miss you mom, I had the greatest childhood anyone could ever have. Even though I left N.S. when I was young we always got together for our many trips. When in Ottawa we went to Kingston to visit Herb and Rochester to visit John. We took trips in the winter to Mexico, Venezuela and the U.S. We were so fortunate to get transferred to CFB Greenwood N.S. so we could spend more time with family. Wayne and Dawn loved going to the farm and having Christmas dinners with mom and dad. That was a great 8 years. Thank you mom for a great life. Granny Bond was such a big part of my life growing up in Nova Scotia. As a kid I was so excited to move to Greenwood so I could spend summers on the farm. We were always surrounded by family, food, and the beautiful farm. I found it strange that she both loved and hated dusty the dog, she could pick and hull strawberries like nobody, and if you ever had the chance to see her pick a turkey after a big meal - there was nothing left when she was done. The best part of all was Granny’s biscuits… I still use her recipe & I am pretty sure my kids will too. She also taught me that it is ok to have pie for breakfast or on special days a heated up day (or week) old donut! Most of all I will remember that she is the toughest lady I have ever met and somebody I am happy to have known and loved.

Hard to believe Esther was 103 years old. Many years have passed since I was hired to pick strawberries for them at their home in Hebbville. So many memories of her children's school days and mine, especially at the little schoolhouse in Hebbville.. My sympathy to all of you.
