Maddie and I worked together on the Veterans' Unit. Maddie was a caring professional who was generous to the residents and colleagues. Maddie was an excellent nurse and we certainly missed her when she retired. I hope the many memories of Maddie will sustain the family in days to come. My most sincere condolenced.

Scott, Michael, and Families,
I was saddened to learn of Aunt Madeline’s passing. When I was growing up, she was a frequent visitor at our home and we enjoyed those times very much. It is heartwarming to know she spent so much time with her grandchildren in later years. They were truly the light of her life.
Take care and treasure all you memories of her. Love and hugs to all of you.

So sorry to hear of Maddie's passing. I worked with Maddie for many years when she was manager of the ED at the Old Dawson and later at SSRH. She was a very dedicated nurse who treated her staff, patients and colleagues with great kindness and compassion. Maddie loved a good joke and was always ready for fun. She will be missed to all who knew her. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Dear friend Madelyn Mailman passed away on September 8th at home, suddenly. We first met in 1957 when we went in Nurses Training. Maddy, as we called her, is the nurse in the middle of the top picture and on the left, in the picture taken 56 years later , below ! The other two are Donna Curtis and ,me, myself and I .
We were last together the end of June, this year, at Donna's cottage, at Shortt's Lake, just outside of Truro.

The pictures were not posted. Hopefully this note will be posted. I send sincere sympathy to the family, along with much Love and Hugs to all. May the love and caring of family and friends be of comfort to you all at the very difficult time.
I know how much you all will miss her. She was a very Special and loving Lady. She loved her family so very much . I treasure my memories of her, of which I have so many .

I’m so saddened to read of Maddie’s passing in the paper today… I met Maddie in training at Payzant Memorial Hospital , Windsor & were classmates. She was a lovely person , a great nurse & a friend.

I am so sad today having read that dear Maddy has passed away. We have been friends since February 18th, 1957, when we went in nurses training at PMH in Windsor. The last time we were together was the end of June of this year when we went to our friend, Donna Curtis's cottage for an overnight. I had talked to her, on the phone a couple of times since then. Her passing is so unexpected. She was a lovely Lady. She adored her family and was very Proud of each and everyone of you. Although we never met, I feel I know you all .
Sending my sincere sympathy to you all with much Love and many Hugs. May love and caring of family and friends be of comfort to you during this very difficult time. I share your loss and I treasure all of my memories of a very dear friend.

Dear Scott & Michael,
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom.
I remember and honour my classy Aunt Madeline for her quiet graciousness. She was often a visitor in our home in Halifax when she made weekend shopping trips. I remember her often exclaiming: "Ian! I don't know how you survive with all these girls!." I always admired her wedding ring and when I got married wanted my wedding band to be modelled after hers.
I hope you and your families are coping okay and have lots of good memories from the years you spent together to comfort you.

My sincere condolences to the family. Maddie was my first manager when I began work.in the ED at SSRH. I remember her as a very kind and gracious lady. I recall her speaking of enjoyment of a nice walk on the beach, her love of flowers and her pride in her boys.
