Dear Stella and family, I was so saddened to hear of George's passing. We had a shared perspective on the reality of lots of things including "wheels". He was a good mentor to my son Fred while he attended NSCC. When you knew George you always felt like you had someone to depend on and a true friend. It's good that you had lots of laughs on the trip through life together. Always missed. Andrew Collicutt & family

Stella and family, we were so very sad to hear George passed away. Growing up in Irishtown, a few doors down from McNeary’s, allowed us the privilege of knowing George. I can still hear his big laugh and so enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour. Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy to you and your family during this terrible time of loss. He was one of the good guys and will be greatly missed by those lucky enough to know him. Take care and God Bless. Harry Dollard Sr., Cecilia Jamieson, and Harry Dollard Jr.

I met George at several NSCC training courses at Truro campus. He would always greet me (by name) with a great big hello and a smile. What a great sense of humour! What a great guy! I was saddened to read of his passing. My condolences to his family. I will remember him fondly.

Condolences to the family, as I met George when placing student's in OJT positions, and his concern of who and where that a good fit existed, was shown many times, a pleasure to have known and consult with him, many have benefited from his knowledge and will remember that one little detail passed onto them. Take Care.

Dear Stella and Family:
We were saddened to hear that George passed away.
It was always a pleasure to talk with him whenever he would pop into the office at Lunenburg Foundry.

Stella and family,
Very sad to hear about George. He was kind, friendly, intelligent and interesting. I always enjoyed our conversations, which encompassed many topics, but usually included rock 'n roll and which iconic artist we had seen live since last talking.
I will miss that.
Sincere condolences.

I am deeply saddened by George’s passing. George and I were colleagues at NSCC for the past 17 years. I met George at Lunenburg Campus when I taught there for two years and we always gathered for a chat, laugh, and many stories and jokes while attending union conferences and college courses at Truro Campus over the years . I’ve repeated George’s stories and jokes many times and will continue to do so. I loved the stories he would tell about his dear mother. My thought and prayers are with all of George’s family and you Stella. He spoke highly and lovingly about you, your sons and grandchildren. Rest well my friend. I shall miss you.

I am saddened to hear of George's passing. I first met him in 2006 when I joined the staff of NSCC Lunenburg. We 'Black and Smelly Gang' (mechanical, carpentry, and composites (me)) instructors sorta got put on the 'Group W bench' together at conferences, in-services, and in the cafeteria, and I got to know George over food and coffee. He was a great guy, a dedicated teacher, and a good friend. My tenure at the College was short, and I moved on to another job in shipbuilding, so I didn't get to see George much after that, but we touched base occasionally by email and promised each time that the next time I was in Bridgewater, we would get together for a beer. We tried more than a few times, but getting our schedules to coincide was difficult, and in the end we never did get that beer. I truly regret that now; I should have been more diligent. But we did enjoy many chats about boats and engines and building stuff and kids.
George, buddy, I knew you for too short a time but I enjoyed every moment that I did. I will miss you.
Stella, kids and grandkids, I offer you my deepest condolences, and hopes that the pain of parting evaporates like the fog when the sun comes out, but that the love and warm memories last undiminished for the rest of your lives. Grumpy McNeary was A Good Man who, as he said often, knew his limitations (which, IMHO, were few and minor).
Peace and good wishes,
Michael Mason

My sincere condolences to the family, we are so so sorry for your loss.
George will truly be missed by the NSCC graduates that have walked our floors here at DAC along with myself.
Our conversations were always about the students with much flavor of laughter, but always ended with something new about the industry or of a student in which he wanted to see placed with us for their personal growth.
Truly a man of great character and I will cherish our conversations forever. Rest easy my friend.
Jack @ DAC
