Please accept my deepest sincere condolences to all of Brian’s family and friends.
Brian and I first met in September of 1969 when we entered the Ontario Veterinary College. We became fast friends and lab partners and remained through out the four years until graduation in 1973. We went our separate ways but fortunately for me, in 1977, Brian offered me a position in his new clinic. A job I quickly accepted and never regretted.
Dr. Brian Manuel was a great guy, a true friend and the best general practitioner I ever had the fortune to meet.
Brian will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dr.Manuel's passing, who always had a ready smile and a story to tell. My personal favorite, the cats, Clam and Chowder. For those who hadn't heard this story, I'll summarize. He made a trip to Lunenburg for clams for a clam bake. There we two cats wondering nearby, strays that hung around the docks waiting for the fishermen's discards. He felt sorry for these wayward souls and brought them home, hence the names. Is this story true or just a fish tail....ya never know! Rest easy Brian, you will keep them entertained!

Janet, Carrie, Sarah Ian and family. My deepest condolences to you all on your loss of Brian. I remember Brian coming to my farm years ago looking after our horses. Later I worked for him and remember so many farm calls from here to Shelburne and all the small animals he also cared for. Brian was a great story teller and loved to tell stories of his families travels and adventures. My heart goes out to you all . He will be greatly missed.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Dr. Brian Manuel. He was so knowledgeable and well informed, and we had great conversations with him whenever I took my pets to him. I have known him as a vet since he used to come to a vet clinic in Shelburne in the early 1970s, and I took my pets to Nova Vet soon after it opened when Dr. Smith was also there. Dr. Manuel always gave my pets wonderful care and could figure out what was wrong, sometimes just by watching them move. He was kind and reassuring when I had to say good-bye to them. I will miss him and wish to extend my condolences to his family and especially to Dr. Sarah King who looks after my pets now. I am so sorry.

My condolences to Janet and family during these challenging times. I knew Brian for about 12 years and every time we met, he was always happy and pleasant person. He was passionate about his career and travelling. His family always came first. How life goes so fast, that it is the celebration of life itself, that creates our precious memories of loved ones.

It's so difficult to say goodbye to a family friend. I've known Brian for most of the years that he had been living in Lunenburg county. I remember him as a young man knocking on the door of my parent's house, ready to take care of a sick cow or prepared to spend the day doing the monthly herd health check. Brian with my Dad, uncle or my brother would head to the barns prepared to do what they loved- keeping their dairy herd in the best health possible. Brian was a vet. devoted to his work; willing to make emergency
barn calls whenever they were needed. Later on he made lots of calls to check on our horses if they were sick on his way home from work, just to make sure they were recovering or to be there with them and us at the end. Always there to keep our pets healthy. It was fun to hear about all of the adventures that he and Janet went on in their travels; living their life to the fullest. A life well spent.

My heart goes to Brian's family, especially his two daughters - Carrie and Sarah - who I am friends with. I never had the opportunity of Brian looking after my animals, although I did see him flying around the clinic when I took my dog there. However, I am very grateful for his two daughters, one of which (Sarah King) saved my dog Mimi's life. Brian was a great vet, and created an even greater vet with Sarah.
