Obituary of Dora Rosemary Sarty

SARTY, Dora Rosemary – March 16, 1938 - November 28, 2023. Born in New Germany to parents Henry and Alice (Stark) Drew. She married the late Arthur Sarty.

Mom/Nanny/Aunt Dora dedicated her life to taking care of others.  Her family was all she needed, and she loved each of them with her whole heart.

She is survived by her children Joey (Rosalie) Sarty, Bridgewater; Margaret (Ed) Doucette, Hebb’s Cross; Elizabeth (David) Weagle, Bridgewater. Dora also leaves to mourn; her grandchildren Matthew (Sam) Sarty, Lindsey (Pat) Sarty, Hayley (Aaron) Sarty, Shelly Wynn, John (Amanda) MacInnis, Tammy (Dave) Crouse, Joe (Amanda) Weagle; step grandchildren, Joe (Marg) Doucette, and Derek (Gail) Doucette; ten great-grandchildren; nine step-great grandchildren; two great, great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

Dora was predeceased by her husband Arthur; brothers Harold, William (Buddy); sisters Margaret (Basil) Whynot, and Dorothy (Stanley) Roy.  Also, special friend Betty Lou Jenkins, and grand son-in-law constable Dave Wynn.

Special thank you to her close friend Lisa Williams, and to Ann, Reanne, Amy, VON, Tracy Jarvis, Cheryl Soroka, South Shore Regional Hospital Emergency Department staff, paramedics, and everyone who cared for Mom.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, where a public visitation for Dora will be held Friday, December 1^st from 2-4p.m., and 6-8p.m. A graveside service will be in held at Ascension Lutheran Cemetery, Conquerall Mills, on December 2^nd at 1p.m. There will be a reception in the Hebbs Cross Fire Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PRO KIDS.
