Obituary of Ronald Keith Wile
WILE, Ronald Keith – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Ronald Wile. Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side, early on December 20th, 2023. Ron is predeceased by his parents, Bernard, and Elva Wile; his baby daughter Kelly; and his brothers Eric, Eugene, and Laurie. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joanne; his daughter, Shelly Wile (Glen MacLean); grandson Isaac Stuckless; sisters, Betty Ann McKay, Faye Wentzell; and several nieces and nephews.
Ron earned his CGA designation early in his life and spent the majority of his career in Saint John, N.B., working at Revenue Canada. He returned with Joanne to Bridgewater in the early 1980s, where they built their home and have lived ever since.
Ron enjoyed the simple things in life, but in his younger years he had quite an adventurous spirit, enjoying travel, boating, even flying airplanes. Later in life he discovered a love for the ukelele and spent many nights strumming a song. He also enjoyed playing concerts with his ukelele group, entertaining seniors and sometimes giving a concert for his family and friends.
Ron was a very private person, and being such, he has requested no visitation or service. He valued kindness and empathy and would be so happy if everyone who knew him could just be kind and perhaps do an act of kindness in his memory.
Ron was part of a very close-knit group of four; himself, Joanne, Shelly, and Isaac. For so many years it has been us against the world, facing life’s challenges together. His loss is devastating for us; we will remember him every day in so many ways and are so thankful to have had him in our lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s name may be made to VON Canada, or to New West Pine United Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, where online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com .
