Obituary of Helen Mae Banks

Banks, Helen Mae – Age 85 of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born June 11, 1938, in Sweetland, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Bernice (Oickle) Nauss.

Helen is survived by her husband, Ira; daughter, Sharon (Edward) Jesso, Baker Settlement; sister, Edith Cross, Saskatchewan; brothers, Bernard (Wendy) Nauss, Sweetland; Warren (Diana) Nauss, Cornwall; Lee (Darlene) Nauss, Sweetland; grandchildren, Jonathan (Holly) Tanner, Upper Northfield; Lisa-Mae (Adam) Eisenhauer, Western Shore; great-grandchildren, Antonio Jesso, and Austin Tanner.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter at birth; sisters, Paulette Nauss, and Geraldine O’Brien; brothers, Aubrey Nauss, and Vernon Nauss.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2023 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street. Bridgewater, Pastor Paul Jensen officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
