Obituary of Elsie May Hebb

HEBB, Elsie May – Age 92 of Lunenburg, formerly of Wileville, passed away February 6, 2024, in Harbourview Haven, Lunenburg. Born March 26, 1931, in Wileville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Greta (Wile) Lohnes. Elsie is survived by daughters, Joanne Hebb, Halifax, and Marlene Hebb, Niwot, Colorado; sons, Jamie (Kim) Hebb, Wileville and Ben (Donna) Hebb, Wileville; brothers, Elmer (Judy) Lohnes, Wileville and Reggie (Judy) Lohnes, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Ashley (Jun) Vanstone, Hashiwaki, Japan, Amanda (Derrick) Vanstone, Orono, Maine, Ryan Hebb, Wileville, Heidi (Dave), Moncton, N.B., and Emma Hebb, Wileville; sister-in-law, Margaret Matchett, Windsor, Ont; brother-in-law, Bobby Hebb, Wileville; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Billie; sisters, Ruth Joudrey, and Mildred Hebb; brothers, Ralph Lohnes and Raymond Lohnes; sister-in-law, Glenda Brown; brother-in-law, Joe Hebb.

Elsie was fond of gardening and took pride in her many years working on the farm. In her younger years, Elsie managed her brother, Ralph’s convenience store.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 9th in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, February 10th in Bridgewater United Church, Bridgewater. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Donations in Elsie’s memory may be made to Bridgewater United Church, Bridgewater, or S.H.A.I.D Tree Animal Shelter.
