Obituary of Barri William Meisner

MEISNER, Barri William – Age 66, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully, at his home surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was the son of the late Burpee and Rita (Carver) Meisner. He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Sweet) Meisner; his daughter, Lynsee (Johnny) Wall; his grandsons, Zayden, Tristin, and Tytus; sister, Sharri Meisner; and Uncle William (Bill) and Aunt Neica; cousins; nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Barri was predeceased by his son, Luke.

Barri was a hard-worker and enjoyed doing so. Despite only receiving a grade 8 education, he was a very savvy businessman who learned from the school of hard-knocks and was able to achieve many things. He was a jack of all trades and could conquer any task he put his mind to. Barri loved the outdoors and being active in nature. To him there was nothing better than having a power saw in his hand and being on our land!

When Barri and Cindy first saw each other, it was love at first sight. During their marriage of over 37 years, they were a team in business and in life. Daughter, Lynsee was the apple of his eye and still is. He not only loved our son-in-law, Johnny, but greatly respected and appreciated him. Their precious family made us whole again.

Barri was a very social individual. He loved people and a good chat, especially if he could offer advice learned from his experiences! Everywhere Barri went he made friends along the way. All of his friends, new and old, held special places in his heart and memories. While staying at The Lodge that Gives, in Halifax, even though it was only a short-time, he made friends there that he came to love dearly. On December 7, 2023, Barri accepted Jesus as his “Lord and Savior”, and gained a spiritual son in Teonte Fraser, who connected with Barri and Cindy in a powerful and lasting way.

Special thanks to our “Support System”, you all came in alongside of us when we needed you the most! We would not have made it through this time without you! You carried us and helped Barri’s heart to heal and grow, despite the decline from his battle with esophagus cancer and complications from surgery.

Barri will be greatly missed but we are comforted in the full knowledge that he is with his Savior, Jesus, and his son, Luke. At Barri’s request there will be no funeral but, if you wish to celebrate Barri’s life, think of him as you participate in one of Barri’s many loved activities. If you like to fish, when you drop your line, think of Barri. If you’re enjoying time on a boat, think of Barri. If you’re in the woods appreciating nature or working your land, think of Barri. If you’re enjoying life, whatever it is that you love to do best, think of Barri.
