Obituary of Hedley Verne Fulton
Fulton, Hedley Verne - The family of Hedley Fulton of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Liverpool, he was the last of three children of the late Robert and S. Helen (Tupper) Fulton.
Hedley had a successful 40-year career as a locomotive engineman with Canadian National Railways.
He was a dedicated member of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years and was an honorary member following his active service. He played the snare drum in the Fireman's Band taking part in parades and concerts for many years.
Hedley and Barb were lifelong campers starting with a tent and four small children eventually graduating to a motor home in which they wintered in Florida. Following Barb's passing he continued to enjoy traveling across Canada and attending many local Blue Grass Music Festivals.

Hedley is survived by his children, Jeri (Wayne), Joanne (Rick), Donna and Mark “Archie”; grandchildren, Shawna, Andrea, Greg, Brian, Graham and great-grandchildren, Jack, Cale, Ella, Owen, Ira and Brighton. He is also survived by sister-in-law. Linda Maloney; several nieces, nephews and will be remembered by friend, Joan.
Hedley is predeceased by his wife Barbara; infant son, David; sisters and brothers in-law, Marion and Herbert Crosby, Audrie and Henry Wasylasko.

Service of Remembrance will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Rev. Neil McEwen officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home with a private family burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bridgewater Fire Department, Bridgewater United Church or charity of choice.
