Obituary of Darrell "Pete" Robert Watson
WATSON, Darrell “Pete” Robert – Age 66, of Bridgewater. Darrell “Pete” Robert Watson, son of Robert and Lillian (Beaver) Watson. Husband, Father, Grandfather, and self-proclaimed genius. Born in Halifax, March 8th,1958, he left this world too soon on March 16th, 2024, after a long battle with ALS. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Lisa Green, and a devoted father to his daughters, Kala Watson; and Samantha Green. His legacy will live on through his cherished grandchildren, Jayden and Addison Crouse.
Pete was known for his love of hunting and his passion for nature, which he shared with his brothers, Billy Watson and Bernie Watson, who have preceded him in death. Together they formed an unbreakable bond that extended far beyond the woods. His passing has left an indescribable void in the hearts of those who knew him best. Pete’s infectious laughter would light up any room, his abundance of useless information he provided on a daily basis, as well as his unwavering loyalty, made him a pillar of strength for all those fortunate to call him family or friend.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The memories he leaves behind will forever serve as a testament to the impact he had on everyone around him. In this time of profound loss, we find solace in knowing that Pete is now reunited with his beloved brothers once more. Though our hearts ache with grief of his absence, we take comfort in the knowledge that he is at peace alongside those he loved so dearly. Pete’s PS: “Shut up, Appie ;)”
A Celebration of Life for Pete will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorial donations in his name be made to the ALS society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, as well as the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York St., Bridgewater.
May you rest in eternal peace, Pete, your memory will live on within us always.
