Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Bob was always very considerate when it came to wishing us Happy Anniversary and the phone calls to see how we were doing. Harold enjoyed working the backhoe for him at his home in Cherry Hill. We are so sorry we didnt get to the service, But we only saw the death announcement in the bulletin on Wednesday. Please accept our condolences. Harold and Deanna Hatt of Danesville.

In our house, he was always The Ketchup Man from his time boarding with my parents when he first arrived in Bridgewater (before I arrived). My sisters said he never ate a thing without ketchup. He was always a good guy to us, looking out for us and having fun with us whenever there was an opportunity. My earliest memories were him leading the Big Ex parade, which he always gave us an extra bit of love as he passed. As a BFD firefighter, I had many interactions with him as an adult, all good. Eye rolls and choice words were common as we shared a yarn or looked to get a laugh at the other's expense. We could use more police like him in the world, and when someone asks me to describe a good cop, Bob is who I tell them about.
Bob was a proud dad. Even when his girls were giving him grief, he found the good to highlight. I remember him telling me once how difficult it was to not lock up some boys they brought around, followed by some proud moments.
My thoughts with the entire Smith family. I know how much he will be missed.

I was so saddened to hear that Bob had passed away. We had been friends for more than 35 years. Even though we hadn't seen each other very much during the last 15 years, I thought of him quite often. Bob was one of my dear 'Fishing Buddies'. The gang would get together during the winter months and plan for our next sojourn together. My dearest fishing memories are those of NFL.
Bob was a great cook and camping buddy.
It was on such a trip that Bob had creeled the 'Biggest Lake Trout, weighing in at approximately 15 pounds. However, he never got the chance to keep it! Bob had covered the trout over with moss and a black bear found it and took it away. I wish you could have heard what he had said! Of course, the three of us just laughed. It is memories like those my friend, that I will always cherish. To all of Bob's family, my sympathy and God Bless.
