Obituary of Elaine Marilyn Joudrey

Elaine Marilyn Joudrey, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday April 3rd, 2024, at South Shore Regional Hospital. After a heroic battle with health issues starting July 2023. Elaine was a fighter until the very end and refused to give up hope even when faced with unbeatable odds.

Elaine often spoke about her many health issues with strength. Whether it be extremely rare cancer, broken bones, or a virus. Elaine exuded pride in the support she felt from her loved ones and those whose hearts she has touched, as she fought with courage. Always making sure to remind those around her, how lucky we are for each day and that family is everything.

A special thank you is to be given to Lauren Goss, Brenda Whynot, and Nicole Whynot from South Shore Regional Hospital for the overwhelming amount of peace and safety you provided throughout her many hospital stays.

Elaine was predeceased by her mother Helen and father Harold Silver, her husband Calvin Joudrey, and sister Joan Smith. She will live on through her daughter Lisa and husband Owen Wheeler, and their children Jade and Cole, son Rodney and wife Shawna Joudrey ,and their children Riley, Jillian, Ryan and Mackenzie (as well as her son Calvin), niece Melanie Smith, life long friend Joyce Wile, and two brothers Ronnie and Donnie, along the rest of her loving family and friends, who’s list spans far to wide to mention by name. She was truly grateful for each and every person who took the time to support her throughout each chapter of her life. It brings her family great peace to know that she will once again be reunited with her late husband Calvin, and they may once again be together.

Elaine will not be having a service by request and asks that no flowers are to be sent, but rather you donate to the Canadian Cancer Society. As she will always live on as a survivor of her heroic battle against Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis and wishes nothing more than to bring awareness to the disease and help others win their fight as she did more than 30 years ago.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.  Online condolences and donations may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
