Obituary of Ronald Lloyd Crouse

CROUSE, Ronald L. – Age 76, of Auburndale, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully Sunday, May 12, 2024, with daughter, Ashley, by his side at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Ronnie was born in Bridgewater, the son of the late Lloyd L. and Jessie M. (Mailman) Crouse, and was predeceased by sister in law Joan (Meisner)Crouse.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Banks, and granddaughter, Shaelynn Banks, of Auburndale; brother, Reid Crouse, Bridgewater; and nephews, Stephen (Sylvia) and Michael (Tanya) Crouse.

At a young age, Ronnie enjoyed playing in the meadow at his grandparents, Richard and Ina Mailman in Baker Settlement. He talked very fondly of those memories in his later years and wished to own that property some day. Ronnie spent many years with Farmers Dairy, delivering milk and then worked for Prudential Insurance until a tragic car accident in the 80’s left him disabled and ended his career. The doctors informed Ronnie that he may never walk again, but he was determined in proving them wrong. In Auburndale, his daily 8 Km walks became a familiar sight to friends and neighbours, a routine he maintained until he reached the age of 75! After his recovery he dedicated his time to various volunteer work, including commitment to blood donation, Senior Wheels, and Red Cross. If you had the privileged of knowing Dad, Grampy, “Ronnie” we would be delighted to hear any treasured memories you have to share to help our hearts mend. On-line condolences and memorable stories can be left for the family at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
