Obituary of Edward Leslie Himmelman

Edward Leslie Harry Himmelman – age 73 of Italy Cross, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with his loving wife by his side.  Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Audrey (Crouse) Himmelman, Italy Cross, and the late Leslie Himmelman. 

Edward was employed with Michelin Tire, Bridgewater, and worked in the woods for many years.  Edward loved hunting, fishing, working in his gardens, and working with animals on his small farm when he was well enough. 

Surviving is his wife, Paulette Himmelman; stepson, Dwight Crouse (Carolann), B.C.; stepdaughters, Patricia (Larry) Dorey, Martin’s River; Maxine (Sid) Jordon, Truro; four step-grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy, Richard, Randall, all of Italy Cross; sister, Jeannine Laffin, Lunenburg.  Edward was predeceased by a brother James, and a brother in infancy, baby Himmelman. 

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.  By request, there will be no funeral service held at this time.  Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.  Thank-you to all the Doctors and staff at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Edward’s home care team, and to all his family and many friends that helped him and cared for him along the way.  Online condolences and donations may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
