Jack Penny was a very proud member of the RCMP.
He was respected by all who had the privilege to know him.
I took over from Jack as Canadian Police Officer to HRH Prince Edward after Jack retired.
Rest in Peace my friend.

Jack Penny was the OC in Labrador when I was posted to Nain in the early 80’s. He was an experienced outdoorsman and enjoyed travelling to Nain to hunt caribou during their annual migration in the spring and he fished Arctic char were they running. I learned a lot from Jack while listening to his numerous stories of policing in the North. His brother, Bob, was my OC when stationed in Halifax. They were both excellent policemen and respected by all who knew them.

We were saddened to hear about the passing of Uncle Jack and wanted to let the family know that although we cannot be there in person for the celebration of life, we are thinking about all of you. On my walk last night, I found two dimes, so I think dad is watching over as well.

He had been the OC for Labrador shortly before I arrived, and was my OC in Halifax. He was the epitomy (in my opinion) of what one would expect in a Commissioned Officer. His brother Bob, also a Commissioned Officer was much more laid back, but equally as impressive with his down to earth demeanour. My condolences to the entire family, quite a legacy.

Dear Dorothy and Eugene,
We were sorry to hear of Jack’s passing and were thankful that Vince was able to spend time visiting him in hospital. Jack was in charge of the subdivision where Vince was the RCMP pilot in Happy Valley- Goose Bay, Labrador. We were neighbours on the Canadian side and enjoyed playing bridge at the Officer’s Mess on the base. There were many hunting and fishing trips up North.
From time to time we saw Jack and Alicia in Halifax and Caledonia. Jack was an outstanding member and kind friend.
Inspector Vincent and Nancy Boutilier of Manotick, Ontario
