Obituary of Robert "Bob" Perry Freeman

FREEMAN, Robert Perry "Bob" – June 9, 1950 – October 14, 2024. Age 74, of Bridgewater.

Husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024.  He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 50 years, Patricia (Pat) Freeman, Bridgewater and his two devoted daughters, Angela (PJ) Evans, Hubley, NS; and Christina (Jacques) Desjardins, Quispamsis, NB.

Robert was a loving and proud grandfather to Grace and Aaron Maher; Dominique and Julie Desjardins; and step grandchildren, Brayden and Nevaeh Orman. Robert was the oldest child to Stanley and Elizabeth (Sarty) Freeman, of Mersey Point, NS, and is survived by his family in Mersey Point – sisters, Linda (Greg) Hanley, Marilyn (Joe) Scobey, Susan (Devin) Mansfield; and brothers Harold Freeman and Mike Freeman.

Robert loved and enjoyed his work as an accountant for over 45 years. His clients appreciated his unique relationships and dedication to the job. He was also a proud entrepreneur, owning and operating Dairy Queen in Bridgewater for 28 years. Bob loved his community of Bridgewater and developed many friendships as an active member in the Bridgewater Kinsmen club.

After living in Bridgewater and raising their children, Bob and Pat followed their love of the ocean and built their dream home on beautiful Cresent Beach, which they enjoyed for 20 years. He took pride in his home, landscaping and his favourite pastime of woodworking.

The family would like to thank the Harbourview Haven team for their warm care over the last few months. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart & Stroke Association or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. A public gathering and Celebration of Life will be held for Robert on Friday, October 18th, 2024, at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, with Pas. Jeff Woodcock leading the celebration of life. Gathering to start at 2 pm, in the reception space, followed by the service at 3 pm in the chapel.
