Obituary of Frank Lemuel Nauss
NAUSS, Frank Lemuel of Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 13, 2025 with his family by his side.
Born in Conquerall Mills, he was the son of the late Issac and Mildred (Niford) Nauss.
Frank was a highly skilled welder and pipefitter and worked for various contractors during his career. Frank applied his skills to many projects including the Halifax Shipyards, East River Hardboard Plant, Imperial Oil Refinery in Dartmouth, as well as other Canadian Provinces, and out of country in Dayton, Ohio. Frank retired from Olands Brewery, Halifax, in the early 1990’s and moved to Conquerall Mills where he built his beloved log home.
Our Dad loved the land and was a farmer at heart. He spent his time off helping out at his parent’s farm with his brother Aubrey making hay and at one point raised beef cattle.
During our Dad’s retirement years, he enjoyed growing vegetables in his gardens, continued to work the land as well as working in his shop maintaining his equipment and providing welding services to residents in the local community. He very much enjoyed nature, both hunting and fishing. Dad loved family celebrations, and spending his time with family and friends.
Dad loved to travel and took a number of trips with his children and friends to the Caribbean, Montana, Palm Springs, Alaska, and Mexico.
Frank is survived by his brother, Wayne (Julie); daughters, Katherine (Monty), Pamela (Glenn); son, Christopher; granddaughter, Marly; step granddaughter, Jaclyn; step grandson, Ryan; step great grandchildren, Cailin, and Carter.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his, beloved aunt, Olive Niford; brother, Aubrey, and his ex-wife and best friend, Beverley; and son-in law, Brian.
The family would like to thank the Lunenburg County VON, and palliative care team of Paula Saile, Dr. Patricia Calderia, and Dr. Mike Gibson for the wonderful support that enabled Dad to have his wish to pass away at home.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at Sweeny’s Chapel, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, NS. on January 23, at 1:00 pm, officiated by Reverend Willis Ott. Reception to follow.
